Just three days after Christmas, 1.3 million families just lost a critical lifeline as House Republicans refused to extend unemployment insurance. 

Never in our history have we failed to renew this insurance when so many Americans are out of work. 

Now as the most bitter cold winter in memory starts to recede, let's call on our leaders in Washington to give the unemployed a hand up.
